Dear Friends and Supporters of Maji Mazuri,
As many of you may have already learned, after more than 7 years since founding and leading Maji Mazuri USA, I will be handing over several of my responsibilities, with effect from April 1st:
- Taylor Harper will take over as President. Taylor has been on our Board for a couple of years and was a volunteer with Maji Mazuri in Kenya in 2005 and early 2006.
- Meredith Miller Harper, Taylor’s wife, will join the Board and will assume my tasks as Treasurer and Secretary.
- My wife Lyny has resigned from the Board. It was through Lyny, and her parents, Gordon and Orma walls, that we first made contact with Wanjiku Kironyo, the Founder and Director of Maji Mazuri Kenya, in 2003. I am deeply grateful to Lyny for all her support over the years.
- I will remain on the Board, and will focus on strategy and policy issues both here and in support of Maji Mazuri in Kenya.
I send every one of you my very sincere thanks for the tremendous support that you have shown to Maji Mazuri, and to me personally, in terms of your prayers, your encouragement and your generous donations. Together we have been able to send well over $1 million to Maji Mazuri Kenya since we began in 2005.
We fully intend to continue to grow under our new team as we pursue our mission to help the neediest children and families transform their lives through education, emotional and spiritual growth, and economic well-being.
