Since i joined Maji Mazuri my life has changed alot because i have been able to realize myself as a youth and getting to learn more about LIFE SKILLS and I.C.T, as now am very glad to be trained as a multimedia reporter and am proud of it.
Clean environment goes together with our name. That is why garbage collection is part of the group's activities,
On Saturday 19th February, we held a clean up which was done in conjunction with single mothers from Mathare and young men from other areas. This shows that we live in one community and we don't want them to feel like they are left out, it is an exchange programme too, our target is to work together to keep our community clean so as to reduce chances of Cholera and to maintain peace.
Through that we realized that many youths are willing to make their environment clean but they lack resources and that's why we are working together. In our community we believe in change and in that way we are going to make our environment look clean, being in our uniform while working together shows how we are willing to make the environment look clean, and our slogan states that;'USAFI NI UHAI'which means cleanliness is life and power. Some people believe in cleaning those areas that are relatively clean to make the place more clean instead of doing it in dirty areas, for us we fight to get garbage out of Mathare.
